A Day in the Life

In this issue we talk to Sheriel Collado, a Dealer in Liverpool UK and Area Manager of Stallion Region, The Middle East.

What has your journey been with Saladmaster so far?

I met Saladmaster in 2010 when Lorna Bustamante presented to me; at the time I was a carer. I invested in a set straight away because of my family’s health needs (my husband had high blood pressure, and we wanted to reduce salt and oil in our diet). We then hosted a dinner to get the amazing food processor, and at this point became interested in the opportunity and the ability to earn extra income each month. I also wanted to work hard to get a free set, to give to my brother with health problems. This was the fuel and fire of why we joined.

The rest is history. I worked hard, and we enjoyed our health, and our bank account becoming healthy! We slowly started to understand the success program, and when I became a Distributor there was no turning back. I completed the program in 17 months, in May 2012, whilst heavily pregnant and looking after my 3 year old daughter. However I wasn’t ready to become a Dealer because I didn’t have a team. So I set about building team, and build our organization with 17 people in one month – including my husband Cesar!

We opened our office, ACS Health Solutions, in September 2012 – only one month after having our baby! We became Senior Dealer within 7 months, and in our first full year 2013 qualified as Master Dealer. We have been Master Dealer in 2014 and 2015, and Grand Master Dealer in 2016, Master Dealer in 2017, 2018 and 2019. So far we have promoted 6 dealers; 3 Direct dealer, 2 Senior Dealers and 1 Grand Master Dealer.

In 2016 Ayo ( Present Saladmaster Global President ) and Ryan Reigle of Regal Ware offered us the opportunity to become a Market Coordinator, and I started in January 2017 – the first female market coordinator in the whole world! So I joined the regional management team, and started to build and guide the Optimum region and in 2019 i become a Area Manager of Stallion Region, The Middle East.

What is a typical week’s structure for you?

I set myself a timetable, to make sure I’m on track. Monday is for my own dealership, we have a business meeting in the morning and Open House every afternoon. Tuesdays is always for meetings; for my dealership, UK conference call and catch-up calls with all my regional Dealers. On Wednesday I hold a regional conference call – we’re a very large geographic region which is a challenge, so can’t gather face-to-face. I also visit all my Dealers on a rotating schedule – including Ireland. Thursday and Friday are for training sessions, and sometimes at the weekend I’ll do field counselling with distributors and key people.

I try not to work 7 days a week, by giving myself some quality time with my family when things are quieter. I’m flexible.

What is a typical day for you?

It depends on the needs of the business. On a Monday it’s a very long day, starting at 10am and home at 11pm. We used to work really long days at the beginning, really pushing ourselves, but now we have our staff and structure so it’s easier.

What do you enjoy most about being a Area Manager?

It’s all experience, continuous learning, and self development. I learn from the dealers and other regionals and learn from the President. Being at this level of management means I have the privilege to be mentored by the higher people, get ideas, and have the opportunity to meet with other managers with lots of experience.

What is your vision for your business in the next 5 years?

We’re planting more seeds. We want to develop another 5 Senior Dealers. We’re focusing on developing more self-sufficient people, and want to achieve Elite Master Dealer.

What is your favourite recipe to cook with Saladmaster?

That’s a very straight forward answer – the presentation dinner! (laughs) These recipes mean I have a business! But Cesar is in charge of the cooking in our house! Probably my favourite is the Filipino 6 minute pancit. I’m not a good cook, but Saladmaster makes me a good cook.

What would you say to anyone who wants to join our business?

This is a life changing opportunity. It can make people from ordinary to extra ordinary. You don’t have to put capital in to join. If you have the hard work, right attitude, commitment, focus and determination you will get there.

What is your most magical memory with Saladmaster?

Achieving Master Dealer yearly – that’s magical.
